In the 2019 Maldivian legislative election, people have elected all 87 seats of the People's Majlis which resulted in a major victory for the Maldivian Democratic Party led by Mohamed Nasheed.
The landslide victory meant that it was the first time for a single Maldivian political party to be voted into power without the need for a coalition.
