Vanuatu

Vanuatu is a Pacific island nation that gained its independence from France in 1980. Today, Vanuatu is a parliamentary republic with a mixed legal system of English common law, French law, and customary law.

Vanuatu has 6 provinces in terms of administrative regions.

Economically, Vanuatu is based primarily on small-scale agriculture, which provides a living for about two thirds of the population. Fishing, offshore financial services, and tourism, with more than 330,000 visitors in 2017, are other mainstays of the economy.
